Outside of the Transformers Universe
Many shows and songs have relations to our beloved Transformers.
In fact, last night i was flipping through the TV channels and found a John Candy movie.
I can't remember the name but during a scene, I noticed a kid sitting on the couch playing with Sixshot.
Later, I changed the channels again and started watching AMERICAN DAD. Stan was training Roger in a police adademy. They used Stan Bush's song THE TOUCH

Re: Outside of the Transformers Universe
I was watching an episode of Scrubs recently where JD and Turk imagined their babies playing together I think, and Turk had put an awesome Optimus Prime and Megatron mural on the wall...
I've also seen numerous great TF references in Family Guy - love the one where stewie is carrying around his Starscream :lol!:

Re: Outside of the Transformers Universe
the TV show PAWN STARS
(a family owned business at a pawn shop in Las Vegas)
Got a call from a TF collector. They went to his house to see his collection of Transformers.
"HOLY MOTHER OF TRANSFORMERS" -Chumley
He had a room FULL of TF's at least 2 of each figure. He had 2 or 3 Fortress Maximus
I think i seen 5 Scorponoks. Tons of Optimus Primes. It was a TF collectors wet dream.
He said he has a child on the way and needs the room so he wants to sale his TF"s
He told the Pawn Stars he wanted $20,000 for everything.
A specialist came to the house and said they are valued about $20-$25,000.
But it would take a long time to make profit from because it takes a while to part them out in sales.
So the Pawn Stars offerd him $5,000 for the entire collection.
He said NO WAY!
catch the show on re-runs. It's on the History Channel.

Re: Outside of the Transformers Universe
I caught the show when it was on but I actually watch the show frequently since I work at a pawn shop its interesting. I was thinking they made a second offer for $10,000 but the guy declined again, I'll have to watch it again. I thought it was a reasonable offer considering the time it takes to list and sell it. I don't know why the guy had so many duplicates and mostly loose, he was hording tfs :suspect:

Re: Outside of the Transformers Universe
$20 G is a very reasonable price.
But looking at it from their point of view, it would take forever to make profit from such a deal.
It would take years for anyone to part the TF's out 1 by 1.

Re: Outside of the Transformers Universe
it does seem strange that trances last store update had a lot of the same figs that were in that collection :suspect:
personally ... i think the pawn stars missed out on a great deal there ..... even at his 20k they would have made a good profit
all they needed was to get a avid TF collector ( * cough * me * cough * ) to sort it out and give him one of those 2 fort max toys for doing it

Re: Outside of the Transformers Universe
I am so glad that dude didn't part with that collection for $5,000 I would have cried for him. His best bet is to keep them for when his newborn baby is grown up, that would be a hell of an inheritance. He should rent out a climate controlled storage unit and pack em up. Save for his kid(s).
