American Pickers
American Pickers is one of my favorite shows to watch. They travel around and find junky looking yards. Then they ask the owner if they rummage through and buy the junk. They find a lot of cool stuff.
They have come across some vintage toys 1950's era. Mostly old bikes and signs.
I also noticed that they are based in the same state a certain Decepticon seeker lives. Ever run into those guys?

No, they're clear in the Quad Cities. I was gonna call them to take a look at some old crap that I don't know where to get rid of. I do love watching that show. That's what I look like at a flea market or garage sale! Going through everything, asking people if they have any good stuff.
Re: American Pickers
That is a good show and I catch myself watching it when it's on. The History Channel also premiered a new show last night called "American Restoration." Run by Rick and the crew it's a neat show and they also get lots of business from the crew over at Pawn Stars. Makes me wonder how many more spin offs Pawn Star associates will get....would love to see the Vintage Toy Store guy get his own show traveling all over the Western US evaluating collections and then bartering for them.
Re: American Pickers
I like that show too. One thing I dont understand about people though, is you're 97 years old, what the hell are you gonna do with all this crap? They come in and offer boatloads of money to these people and they say "well, I think im gonna hold onto that" "What about this?" "Well im kinda fond of that." Really? Youre freakin 97! Thats how the show Hoarders got started lol!

I have to agree with you Dinobot. Some of them old folks have so much junk laying around they would not miss anything if they sold it. Sentimental purposes I can understand. But freakin old rusted junk they didn't even remember having....... come on!
And Skyfire... a vintage toy show would be freakin AWESOME!! I would enjoy watching that show as much as I enjoy watching Pawn Stars & American Pickers. I have yet to see the new restoration show because I don't have cable. My brother tapes all these shows for me during the week, then I watch them all in one sitting on the weekend.

Re: American Pickers
No, I'm the opposite. If it's worth something, I keep it or try to sell it. If it's crap, it's outta here! My parents are/were hoarders, to an extent. Not like on the show, but my mom has a whole damn cupboard full of old butter containers and plastic grocery bags. "Might need 'em someday!" My dad was bad with cars. I figure, if they don't run, off to the scrapheap with the rest of the Auto-bums!

It's been broke down for almost a year! Throw-out bearing, and I keep putting off fixing it. Now it's gonna snow, so screw it!
