Ok, I decided to create a review thread of my own, where I'll review the occasional figure or two, thou I'll be open to requests if they are in my collection and I wish to review them! To kick things off, I'll start with Car Crash from Fansproject:

SOMP Reviews Carcrash001

Robot mode is fairly nice, his arms are on a weird joint, its a ball joint on the body that connects into a socket and that socket has a hinge to it that enables arm movement! His head is on a ball joint and can do 180! His waist can do 180 as well, legs are on ball joints with a swivel joint below where the ball connects, then below that is another hinge joint, so you can get some great poses out of his legs! With his arms, you have Swivel joints for his elbows and a joint that enables his hand to do 180, but only one 180 because part of the car side gets in the way!

SOMP Reviews Carcrash002

Transformation, is rather a pain to be honest, there's a weird locking feature on his legs to keep them from going downwards while he in robot mode, honestly, I think the leg transformation is the weak point of this figure not to mention the fact its a pain in the ass to get his arms to line up properly with the back of the car mode, but once its done, he has a fairly nice vehicle mode, not sure how well he rolls thou because I've not tried driving him!

SOMP Reviews Carcrash003

The underneath of the vehicle mode is fairly tidy, thou he suffers from what RID (ordinal) Prowl toy suffered from, exposed head, same fix, by spinning his head 180, thou FP instructions don't say that! The thing that bugs me the most about this figure, is his crouch (AKA in between his legs) there's a pointless hole there and nothing to fill it!

SOMP Reviews Carcrash004

The only part not mentioned in his instructions is the fact his chest can open up, this is for the combiner mode, exactly how he'll connect to the main body is unknown at this point because the instructions say nothing of it:

SOMP Reviews Carcrash005

Before comparisons, I'll mention his gun, I think is the best bit in some respects because unlike most Hasbro guns of late, his splits into two parts and stores away underneath the vehicle mode and serves as his exhaust pipes via the holes in them

SOMP Reviews Carcrash006

Now some size shots, him next to Classics Deluxe Optimus, as you can see he is smaller than Optimus

SOMP Reviews Carcrash007

Against Thundertron he comes up to about his waist!

Overall, Car Crash is not a bad figure but in places I feel some of the choices they made on how to transform him could of been better, its like they established the robot mode and vehicle mode but the transformation became an after thought! I'm not to sure on how he meant to go for limb mode, so I'll wait until I have all five figures in hand before doing the combiner mode, thou I suspect all four robots that make the limbs are capable of doing the scramble city thing, by switching locations! Recommend him, I'm not to sure, but I'll leave that to your own judgement!

Next I'll do one of the Not Devastator figures, but the question is, who should I review first, combined mode is last, so please let me know what you think!

I find it better for each figure to have their own thread.

I just can't be bothered to do that!

That hole on Car Crashes crotch is for the leg mode when combined. Just like the holes on his inner calves are meant to hold the combiner fist when used as an arm! Love me some scramble city style combiners!
