The Wrath Of Disney Empty The Wrath Of Disney

Post by Galvatron Sun Nov 04, 2012 3:57 pm

George Lucas has retired from film making apparently and he sold the Star Wars franchise for a shit load of money. Sold it all to the evil wrath of DISNEY.

Now Disney plans to make another SW trilogy sequel. Star Wars 7 8 9. So start looking for your favorite Star Wars action figures on the Disney aisle at your local store.

I think it will be better. Lucas wouldn't have given us any new SW, and you Disney can't do much worse than Jar Jar.

hmmm

I wonder how this will affect merchandise (action figures) in the long term? I know Lucas contracted out to Hasbro but I don't think Disney has ever used them. I mean......I know there will be action figures for the new trilogy but the real questions are going to be: cost, quality and availability.

EDIT: Now it seems as if Disney has plans to buy HASBRO as well. stop If this happens, I'll be buying 3rd party Transformers only! I have most all of the Modern Era G.I. Joe lineup already with only a few "classics" figures that need to be made. Hopefully TF CLUB, GI JOE CLUB and the SDCC continues to deliver products that cater to the collector market.

Maybe Disney will buy Hasbro.

Think of the possiblilites for Toy Story 4. I just hope the new SW movies don't have crappy songs like in all other Disney movies.

Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford and Carry Fisher have been asked to be in the new sequel trilogy. They all said they would like to be in the movie.

I expect Disney will stick with Hasbro when it comes to action figures, because Hasbro would technically own the rights to the figures moulds, besides, if Disney gave the rights to make toys to say, Bandi, they would have to make the moulds from scratch and that will up the cost of the figures!

Anyway, it might be interesting to see what they come up with for the next Star Wars film, thou I suspect it won't be the film to go to for the latest effects, I suspect that one of the marvel movies will take that crown, I doubt it be a DC comics one, they at the moment, got a lot riding on the Man of Steal film, let alone this rumoured Justice League movie!

I try and stick with Transformers and G.I. Joe, myself. ;) Got a small M.A.S.K collection that I'd probably sell if a movie was ever released. I can pass by Star Wars merchandise anywhere and not be tempted. But for some reason Marvel/DC talks to me. I don't have the room or money so I have to put those dreams on hold. Nearly killed me to put that Marvel Universe Punisher back on the peg at Wal-Mart a few months back.

Disney will probably make a great new trilogy, and hopefully with the old cast, but I don't think that Leia can ever qualify as a Disney Princess.

She kissed her own brother, and Han Solo isn't a nerf herder prince in disguise.

The Wrath Of Disney 39450....looks as if J.J. Abrams will direct the new trilogy. He's a HUGE Sci-Fi fan and did a fabulous job with the new Star Trek movie, so I'm starting to get really excited over this.

I'll remain on the sidelines until the first full length trailer is released, but I'm not to worried about J.J. Adams in charge of directing, I'm more worried about storyline, I mean, effectively at the end of Return of the Jedi, the empire fleet has been demolished, the emperor is dead, Vader dead, the rebels have won, so where do things go from there? dunno
