Planet X: Project Genesis
This behemoth has been up for pre-order for a little while now but you definitely don't want to be caught snoozing on this one and miss out! It will probably be a long time before we ever see another updated Omega Supreme, too. This WFC Version will tower over anything in your collection! I own Hercules (pictured above) and just seeing how this figure dwarfs even that....really impresses me. It's a bit on the steep side ($299.99) but you have to remember you're paying for a massive, articulated guardian robot that also has 5 LEDs built in (shown in diagram above). Genesis is set for a late Jan. 2013 release so start saving up!
Re: Planet X: Project Genesis
The more I look at this, the more I want it. Coming up with $299 all at once though is brutal. I've been trying to come up with ways though. They're saying the end of January for a release date, but with no new updates coming from the Planet X camp (or pics of packaging), I'm starting to wonder. But delays like this are expected with 3rd party toys sometimes. Rather they fix it now than have to send us all replacement parts so we can do it ourselves. If it does get delayed maybe I can get in before it sells out.
Re: Planet X: Project Genesis
I'm passing on this because the cost of it would be to high to be worth it and I'm leaning towards the upcoming Omega from Hasbro that uses the Energon mould with a few alterations and a different paint job!

Fuck my ass! I wish I wasn't so poor. Is there a base mode as well, or just one big ship?

No base mode. Just the ship. The Energon Omega Supreme mold is being released very soon though in G1 COLORS and will be available for only $99. A lot of folks are going that route to get their "G1 Classics" Omega.

You've just been sigged.

He not just a simple repaint, he is a retool, one of the arms has been retooled and he has a new head sculpt, thou I hope it can still transform as a headmaster thingy, as I'm going that route as well!

I'll pass still because it would set one back far more than the Omega that I got yesterday in the mail, besides, we don't know if this Omega has a good range of movement to surpass the G1 toy!

Well if stability's an issue check out this pic of Project Genesis lifting the Year of the Snake Omega Supreme ONE HANDED!
Re: Planet X: Project Genesis
Still not buying because of three factors:
1. Money AKA Cost
2. Space, running of room for figures
3. Got two Omegas already, why would I want an unofficial Omega?
4. Year of the Snake, is safer if I ever let my nephew at him in the future (when he at a point where he interested in TFs, at the mo, all he into is mum and her milk!)

Just razzing you, SOP! The Year of the Snake OS is a really nice figure and I'd love to own either version myself.
Re: Planet X: Project Genesis
This Genesis, robot is getting a upgrade, in the form of a replacement face or head:

Re: Planet X: Project Genesis
^^^ mirrored the teaser image here. As you'll get nothing pertinent, as far as information is concerned, from clicking on that hotlink..
Hmmmm... ...not sure what they're trying to prove here by releasing such a crappy quality, low res., distorted teaser picture. Even if I owned Genesis, this image would probably make me more disinterested than interested in this particular side project.

I would love to have him, but...the cost is too much to justify it.

Agreed. But those who own him continue to rave over him. From what I hear the figure has a lot to offer and is virtually QC issue free. Still though, for a figure based on a video game, that I'm not overly vested in nor have nostalgic ties to; I can live without it for that price-tag and get 2-3 more 3rd party figs and be just as happy. Hell.....I can "almost" spring for a 3rd party combiner for what Genesis runs.
Re: Planet X: Project Genesis
Indeed. I'd love to have Genesis, but I don't want to have to sacrifice a cement mixer and an excavator...or a tiger and a bull, if you know what I mean, to pay for the damn thing. Not a problem though, for their next project is full of...DINO-MIGHT! Yeah, FoC style Dinobots, starting with Swoop.

Color me interested on that! ANY updates on Swoop, Sludge, Slag and Snarl have my wallet standing on end!
