Daca Toys Kronos (MP Jetfire)
This is the cartoon version of Skyfire. This same company will be releasing a MP version known as "Titan" based on the IDW comic version of Jetfire. These photos are only renders at this point, but the final production version of these two will have chrome and better paint apps., with more red details (such as the striping) that was are all used to seeing with Sky/Jetfire. I've got Kronos on pre-order right now, myself through BBTS and he'll run $169.99 with a due date of January 2014.

He looks cool, but there are only CG Renders of a figure that is expecting to be released in January? That seems like a pretty tight schedule.

This particular company likes keeping things under wraps, so I believe the Prototype is already finished and they've moved onto QC testing at this point. Just no pictures to share yet... but I will post up another render with a bit more color to it and a more dynamic pose.
I don't fully expect this to be released in January either. Probably late February/early March. I haven't seen a 3rd party figure hit its release date.....well, I can't recall the last time it happened. I just expect delays at this point.

I'll pass, well maybe, it depends, from what I read, there's going to be a leader Jetfire entering the Generations line, thou no pics of it yet, so it could either be a new figure or just rerelease of ROTF, besides, I'm kind of happy with my Classics Jetfire, thou I wouldn't mind if a third party made a different backpack for Jetfire to make him more closer to G1 cartoon look, but that's just me!

Re: Daca Toys Kronos (MP Jetfire)
This will be a Masterpiece scaled Jetfire (meant for display with MP's) with added chrome and multiple points of articulation. Hasbro's Leader Class figure probably won't homage the G1 version as Harmony Gold owns the rights to the Valkyrie figure and has already shown they'll sue at the drop of a hat. Classics Jetfire is nice, I own him, but he won't compare to this figure once it's finished.SuperOmegaPrime wrote:I'll pass, well maybe, it depends, from what I read, there's going to be a leader Jetfire entering the Generations line, thou no pics of it yet, so it could either be a new figure or just rerelease of ROTF, besides, I'm kind of happy with my Classics Jetfire, thou I wouldn't mind if a third party made a different backpack for Jetfire to make him more closer to G1 cartoon look, but that's just me!

They own the rights to the Valkyrie which from what I gather is effectively the Macross jets thing, so I think Hasbro could get away with a figure based upon Skyfire cartoon appearance, not the G1 toy, that's where the issue is far as I understand!Sixshot wrote:This will be a Masterpiece scaled Jetfire (meant for display with MP's) with added chrome and multiple points of articulation. Re: Daca Toys Kronos (MP Jetfire)
I think Harmony Gold has Hasbro scared to even attempt anything representing the G1 Skyfire as it would still have to resemble the Valkyrie mold.SuperOmegaPrime wrote:They own the rights to the Valkyrie which from what I gather is effectively the Macross jets thing, so I think Hasbro could get away with a figure based upon Skyfire cartoon appearance, not the G1 toy, that's where the issue is far as I understand!Sixshot wrote:This will be a Masterpiece scaled Jetfire (meant for display with MP's) with added chrome and multiple points of articulation. Re: Daca Toys Kronos (MP Jetfire)
Ok, that doesn't make much sense because Hasbro has already done a Classics Jetfire toy and that looks a lot like the Macross machine, the only differences being the gun, the head and Jetfire having a backpack, so I still don't see where any lawsuit would come in on that, if it were the only thing that is copyrighted far as I can see, is the ordinal G1 toy mould and anything it used to produce, thou direct copying of that mould is also breaking the copyright law!Sixshot wrote:I think Harmony Gold has Hasbro scared to even attempt anything representing the G1 Skyfire as it would still have to resemble the Valkyrie mold.SuperOmegaPrime wrote:They own the rights to the Valkyrie which from what I gather is effectively the Macross jets thing, so I think Hasbro could get away with a figure based upon Skyfire cartoon appearance, not the G1 toy, that's where the issue is far as I understand!Sixshot wrote:This will be a Masterpiece scaled Jetfire (meant for display with MP's) with added chrome and multiple points of articulation. Re: Daca Toys Kronos (MP Jetfire)
The Classics mold that came out in 2007 did have enough creative liberties to distinguish itself from the Valkyrie mold, which is why I think HG didn't bring suit against Hasbro then. However, I think in order to properly represent a Masterpiece Skyfire, Hasbro would have to cross over the borderline that is now HG's intellectual property and resemble the Valkyrie mold enough to where a suitable case could be brought up in court. HG owns the rights to the Valkyrie mold which they use in their Robotech series, but it's only protected under US laws (as if suing across international borders would do them much good anyways), so seeing as this 3rd party company is Chinese based it's probably the closest we're ever going to see to a MP Sky/Jetfire ever being released.

Re: Daca Toys Kronos (MP Jetfire)
Looking again at the render, it appears to have the same amount of articulation as the G1 toy.
Not a complaint, it just makes you realise how advanced the original figure was compared to some of the others.

Back then, sometimes bigger was better, hell, its kind of like that today on some figures, but times do change and technology improves some things!Rumble wrote:Not a complaint, it just makes you realise how advanced the original figure was compared to some of the others.

Re: Daca Toys Kronos (MP Jetfire)
I see a hip flap that folds up to allow for a hip swivel. And those hands.... ....he could flip you the bird with one hand and flex his index finger with the other in a "get over here" gesture. Not sure about the ankles, but I hope it has rocker ankles to pull off some dynamic poses.Rumble wrote:Looking again at the render, it appears to have the same amount of articulation as the G1 toy.

Re: Daca Toys Kronos (MP Jetfire)
Another pic. This figure is Daca Toys: Titan (Comic accurate Skyfire) by comparison. I'm still going after Kronos, but as you can see here they're both excellent looking figures.
Re: Daca Toys Kronos (MP Jetfire)
I think Jetfire is blushing so much that the red spread all over his body

Re: Daca Toys Kronos (MP Jetfire)
This toys is tempting me to purchase it. Only $165, and may be the only MP Jetfire in town for a VERY long time.
Re: Daca Toys Kronos (MP Jetfire)
Certainly about the correct size for JF
