Re: Dirgeville
Ok children, for now there won't be any hobos or prozzies or hello kittys or any shagging of any kind ....
First few pics here of the progress
Not much to look at yet but .....
This is the baseboard, its 9 1/2 feet long and 4 1/2 feet wide, in time, everything will be attached to this
Here we see some of the track that will be used, I've gone for the Hornby track and points, just because I can. The Flying Scotsman is actually a LNER Gresley locomotive, so it wont be coming out the box, I will use the track and controller it comes with tho. Track is expensive, just what you see (Not including the Flying Scotsman) was £127 GBP
Some of the rolling stock. These aren't cheap either, just one of the grey milk tankers will set you back around £18 - £25 GBP
The loose locomotive is a 0-4-0 Saddle tank engine branded with the crimson LMS livery, this, unboxed was about £16GBP, so it wasn't too bad
The Rolling stock has to be of the correct time period (1923 - 1947) or it will look weird

Re: Dirgeville
Subbed to your channel. You better slow that damn quad bike down on those farm roads. The shoulders over there don't look as forgiving as our American ones.
Re: Dirgeville
Panic not my dear Sixer, I now ride a quad bike that's twice as powerful as the one in the video .........
Got the rest of the track, next job is the assembly of the inner circuit and sidings, may make a small change here or there, undecided yet
pics to follow when I've done the deed

Re: Dirgeville
There will be two tunnel exits, one at either end of the board, this is done so as the far section of track is hidden behind a scenic wall, this gives the impression that the line is not a loop, but a actual station and shunting yard.
Got the inner circuit done and the sidings are almost done, been a few changes here or there, but that's par for the course.
Waiting on some LMS power to arrive now to test it all. (Poor Flying Scotsman was involved in a head on collision with some parked coaches and the front end is wrecked)
I will have four locomotives, the crimson saddle tank engine (that you saw getting shoved off the end of the siding in the video) for working the shunting yards, a Fowler 0-6-0 (ordered about ten minutes ago) and a Stanier black five for goods trains and hopefully, if money allows, a Princess or coronation class for the passenger trains.
The Skaledale goods shed, water tower and signal box have arrived, just undecided as to which station to use, the plastic Hornby booking hall or the Skaledale resin building.

I thought there would be one exit and one entrance.
But then again, I like to enter both tunnels.
