Takes several inches here to close anything. The last snow storm was up to my knees and nothing closed.

Re: Storms in the States.
Well the snow turned out to be a rather pleasent dry day, not even a hint of it.
If we were to get knee deep snow here, it would be considered the end of the world.

Re: Storms in the States.
i could see that happening Rumble. My niece lives at a higher elevation than i do and she got 14 inches of snow. I don't know what that measures to in England, but it's a lot of damn snow.
I bet it don't snow much in Colorado does it Thrust?

Re: Storms in the States.
Well that depends where in Colorado. Where I live in Pueblo not much. I live in a bit of a valley/desert climate compared to the rest of Colorado and its mostly dry save for a couple of good snow storms in Jan. area. I live close to the mountains though and can be in deep snow in about 30 minutes.
This is about 30 minutes from me. This was 14 inches in 2 days in December.
This one is a little over 2 hours away taken last may.
I visited the inlaws in easten Colorado a few years back and snow was 4 foot deep. Smacked my shin on the mg in the backyard, it was completely covered.

Re: Storms in the States.
No snow here yet, but the tempreture has dropped dramatically. My hands were red raw by about mid-day today.

Re: Storms in the States.
I am off work for a week, so hopefully I don't have to go anywhere!
It is not as cold here as it was, the snow has definately made it warmer.

It is an unusually warm winter here too, mostly in the forties (f). It snowed here last week about as much as you got there Rumble but its mostly melted now. Its supposed to snow again tommorrow, I'll take a pic.

Re: Storms in the States.
Haven't seen any snow here since Feb. of last year. Been unseasonably warm here too. Temps the past couple days have been in the mid-70's. Not complaining now, just hope it doesn't carry over into summer.
Re: Storms in the States.

Yeah, my heart goes out to them. Hopefully things are returning back to normal for most people affected. I heard somewhere once every 100 years or so a major hurricane hits the New England area. Guess they were due.
Re: Storms in the States.
I know it's bad when it gets alot of news coverage over here, some of the pics I have seen.... :pale:

Re: Storms in the States.
A lot are still without power. Now a 'Nor-Eastern' front is on the way which will drop temperatures below freezing and probably come with a half a foot of snow. Doesn't look good for the thousands of homeless already there....
Re: Storms in the States.
Makes me realise how lucky I am over here, sure we get alot of rain but nothing as severe as that.
