I know that Thanksgiving is an American holiday... To celebrate food.
Do you guys on the other side of the pond have any food celebrating days?
Or is the UK where we get all of our turkeys?
mmmmmmmmmmm turkeeeey

'Holidays' would be the closest, although they are normally referred to singularly by their name.

Re: US v. UK
the Brittish version of biscuit looks like the bottom half of the American biscuit. So maybe the Brits toss the top half of the biscuit in the bog. Too fluffy for them perhaps.

Bank holidays. Even though the banks are closed.
In the UK we respect our words
In the US you lose Os (colour/color) and swap S's with Zs (synchronise/synchronize)
We Brits also say Paedophile (pronounced Pee-dophile). Or Jimmy Saville.
Whereas US says pedophile.
