Re: Fans Toys FT-03 Quakewave
Beast Hunters Shockwave left a bad taste in my mouth, and yet it's FoC Shockwave that gets all the flack. Between how well the first Beast Hunters Voyager Optimus and Predaking and Beast Hunters Grimwing turned out, it's illogical how terribly Shockwave turned out. But the true logical choice is of course the one who isn't actually called Shockwave on the packaging. After Quakewave, there's not much need for another Shockwave.

Plastic has a tendency to do that. You're not supposed to eat your Transformers bud.
I agree.... After Quakewave, there is no need for another Shockwave
Re: Fans Toys FT-03 Quakewave
...I walked right into that one. But what I meant was that as far as the toy is concerned, I was very disappointed in Shockwave. I don't care if the character on the show was absolutely awesome. If it's a bad toy it's a bad toy. The Grimwing mold had just the barest of screen time as Darksteel, and yet is far better than Shockwave. Go read my review on that steaming pile of plastic if you want my full opinion on him.Galvatron wrote:Detective Barricade wrote:Beast Hunters Shockwave left a bad taste in my mouth

ANY disappointment in Quakewave would be in the price tag, and that would immediately dissipate upon taking him out of the package to start messing with him.

Quakewave looks like a good solid version, very true to the original, but I don't know, maybe I am just too old and stubborn, but he seems to lack the 'character' of the original toy.
Find yourself the G1 version, he is one of the best and should be a fair bit cheaper then $200.

And I agree. 3rd party will eat a hole in your wallet and if you're not careful you'll find yourself spending $1,000 a quarter (every 3-4 months) and not even realize it. I committed to Feral Rex back last January (2013) when I paid up front for Talon (Divebomb). Since then I've gotten Bovis (Tantrum) and Fortis (Headstrong).....now Leo Dux (Razorclaw), with his delays is finally hitting/dropping at the same time as Scoria (MP Slag). Mastermind Creations constant delays (Leo Dux should have been out by now) is forcing me to choose between Daca Toys Kronos (MP Skyfire....who I REALLY LOVE the look of) and Fans Toys Scoria. I really want both and need to sell some stuff so I don't miss out on Kronos, who is limited to just 1,000 pieces overall. Aftermarket on him is going to be FUCKING CRAZY, due to the short supply and no future runs.

BH Shockwave, best displayed in Robot mode, without the rubber things attached, thou I have the Takara version!

the guy I bought bh shockwave from asked if I wanted the package and the rubber parts and I told him hell no so I am just gonna get the figure. the rubber parts would have just got burned with my foc shockwave if I would have gotten them.

Those rubber parts could of been used for something else, like for MP Ravage's bed when not inside of Soundwave, mmmmmm, there's a thought, Ravage you should do a photo comic of life inside of Soundwave's chest compartment!

And whatever else that transforms into a cassette and goes inside of Soundwave's chest, I wonder, when Soundwave got rebuilt/reformatted into Soundblaster, did his chest compartment get a make over as well?

Re: Fans Toys FT-03 Quakewave
It got a full makeover done by the EXTREME MAKEOVER team. Soundwave and the cassettes were sent to Disneyland for a weeks vacation while the compartment was being madeover.
Each cassette got their own room designed with all of their own personal liking.
Ratbat -got a CAVE themed room. Painted black and completely dark and gothic
Ravage - got a SANDBOX themed room. Full of yarn, assorted toys dangling from the ceiling stractching posts and pillows
Laserbeak and Buzzsaw each got a BIRD'S NEST themed rooms with with sticks and grass. Egg shaped furniture to sit on
Frenzy- got the padded room so he can bounce off of the walls and not distrupt any of his neighbors
Rumble- got the luxury pad with the golden toilet and a place to store his monocle and his own personal jacuzzi
Slugfest & Overkill each got jungle themed rooms full of forests and hunting grounds.
All cassettes will enjoy spending time in the swimming pool or just hanging out inside the tavern drinkining it up.
