Re: Generations
I'm glad that I still function (and haven't been thrown out an airlock like some others ). But, seriously thanks for the warm welcome.
I've been to Target, Meijer, KMart, Walmart and no Generations lines. One Walmart had 1/2 of the last wave, and I took it, but I am still waiting to see more. I don't head to the mall much, but there is a Toysrus there and maybe they'd have some... who knows.

Re: Generations
Metroplex, he not to bad, one thing I hope some third party does, is replacement hands, because Cybertron Primus has the best hands on any official figure, I just feel Metroplex's hands were a bit of a let down considering his size! Dirge, I recommend that you think about getting a couple of the Generations legends/scout size figures because they go well with Metroplex and can use his weapons including the one that is his head!

Re: Generations
Legends figures do look amazing with Metroplex. I only have about a 1/2 dozen of them, but it is fricken cool to put them around the big guy! Maybe, I'll pull him out today and set him up. On another note, are their any third party combiners who come close to Metroplex's height?
I am trying to find Generations/FOC Kickback. I'm also looking for Generations 2014 wave 2 - Centuritron & Scoop. I read somewhere that wave 2 was expected at the end of January. But, I guess it'll get here when it'll get here.

Re: Generations
The only third party combiner that I have and comes close is TFC's Devestator but even then, he towers over him, so possibly the only figure to come close, would be Planet X's Omega Supreme but I don't know for sure, yet its a fact, Metroplex currently wears the crown of the tallest TF ever made!

Re: Generations
I recommend for Hoist and Trailcutter, you get the upgrade kit by X2, it gives them a bit more of a G1 look! As for figures to buy, I recommend Generations Sandstorm, aside from his gun, he pretty nice, but if you want a third party recommendation, I say Planet X's Not FOC Swoop, he a great figure in my view!

Re: Generations
FOC isn't to bad, the dullest is Sideswipe, I really dislike that head and face, but I like his weapon, that's the best bit about him!

Re: Generations
im real pickey about what I buy. if I don't like a certain thing about a figure I wont buy it. that's why I didn't buy generations sandstorm because he didn't have a propeller like he did in g1. wish they would have included one that was painted up in the orange as a option.

Re: Generations
That mold has virtually no redeeming qualities aesthetically. Even Takara's paint job can't save it. I feel sorry for the gun that's packaged with Sideswipe, it's that bad.SuperOmegaPrime wrote:FOC isn't to bad, the dullest is Sideswipe, I really dislike that head and face, but I like his weapon, that's the best bit about him!
Starscream though is awesome. As are the repaints of it. But it's not G1, so I guess that makes it automatically awful...

Re: Generations
Well I got Rhinox & Waspinator in the mail, well, picked them up from the post office along with another package that contained my DOTM Striker Optimus, thou I haven't played with them much, with Rhonix, I prefer his robot mode over beast mode, as for Waspinator, he suffers from exposed hands, thou I kind of wish they left out the gimmick of flapping wings!

The reason why, FOC Sideswipe looks bad, is because in comparison to the TFU toy, the heads are majority different, it doesn't begin to capture the G1 look, instead they made some kind of lamo head with a lamo face to go with it, I had hoped at one point to switch the heads with the spare I got when I upgraded my TFU Red Alert figure but sadly the heads are on different joints which makes them incompatible with each other!

Re: Generations
Just had Generations Whirl drop into my pile of loot. Now I need to sell my 100% complete G1 version. Any takers?
Re: Generations
I'm being sarcastic. But there are people out there who believe if it's not G1, it's automatically awful. And their G1 ends just before the '86 movie. Some may even think that the awesome Masterpiece figures that so slavishly recreate the characters into physical form are atrocious simply because they're not the G1 toys. These people need their thick, rose-tinted nostalgia glasses broken...with the world's biggest sledgehammer.Ravage wrote:Detective Barricade wrote:That mold has virtually no redeeming qualities aesthetically. Honestly, FoC Starscream is an awesome toy. And Hasbro is providing fans the opportunity to have all three of the main Seekers in the same mold for the first time in years. Who knows when we'll see this happen again?
The FoC Jazz/Sideswipe mold has a lot more going against it than just the head and face. The very body itself looks absolutely ridiculous. The head is basically just floating there, the shoulders are much too wide, the arms love to pop off if you try to do anything with them, the hips are ridiculously narrow, and the articulation seems to get in the way of itself. Universe Sideswipe looks better because it is a better toy. My problem with the faces of both Jazz and Sideswipe is that the eyes look dead.

Re: Generations
The main problems with Jazz's head, is the following:
1: They painted it the wrong colour, Black would be more awesome and suits Jazz best, a good example of that would be the Movie Deluxe toy that got the G1 colour treatment, that is beautiful!
2: The eyes, they painted over the bloody eyes for no reason, light piping would work a whole lot better!
3: Gun to small, at least that's how it feels to me!
