Devastator looks bad ass and intimidating!

Today I grabbed Legion Class (PeeWee) Ultra Magnus and Skywarp to go with the Optimus I got a few weeks ago. Now that makes three of these Legion Class guys. I really like them and actually want to find more of them. I like their scale a lot will come in handy when I go looking for  playset for these guys. Moving on I also grabbed four mystery packs of the Kre-O Transformers and came out with Slipstrike, Brake-Neck, Sandstorm, and Demolisher. These are my first little Kre-O formers and they are pretty neat, not sure if I will continue to invest in them or not but I would like to find Rodimus. I also grabbed New 52 Darkseid and New 52 Superman, I really love the New 52-verse. Finally I grabbed Batman, Bane, and Mr. Freeze they are around the 4-4.75 inch size. Out of my humble purchases today I think the Legion Class Transformers are my favorite and my search for more of them is on!

I got: Combiner Wars Optimus prime

How is he out of package SOP? I have seen him several times in Wal-Mart and the only thing that bothered me was his chest plate where the so called truck windows are.

I think the worse part of him, would be the heads, the combiner one is slightly better than the other but I hope Prefect Effect upcoming upgrade kit will fix these issues, the quailty on my Op is better than Motormaster's to a degree, mainly on the combined mode chests, well, at least OPs feels more tighter than Motormaster's! At the mo, he in combined mode and he borrowing the Aeiralbots from Silverbolt along with the Prefect effect kit parts! On the combined mode head, it just kind of feels, off, not quite Optimus, I put that down to two things, one, is the antenta (horn things/spikes on the side, whichever you prefer to call it!) The other is the face, I think what really could of sorted that if, they had used light piping for his eyes! Just now, I located a old third party gun I had, after changing Op to robot mode, the gun works pretty well with him! Speaking of the robot mode, the head is very similar to the G1 toy thou it doesn't really inspire much, where's the combiner head, takes ques from the Power Master combined form toy head! Overall, the desgin isn't bad but it bares the hallmarks of a rushed desgin, a last min thing where they take Motormaster's desgin and change it into Optimus prime! Oh crap, just trying to see if the standard robot mode head would come off, I just broke the bloody joint! I guess that shows its a pretty weak neck joint along with bad desgining, so I guess I'll have to start looking for another CW Op to replace that one! My advice, if you want it, get it but don't put much pressure upon the strandard robot head, a weak ball joint!

Your welcome, at the mo, Superion stands as the best combiner I got, I can't judge Defenor, yet because I'm waiting for the figures to be sent out from Kapow with the White Verison of Prefect Effect addon that gives better hands and feet, plus the kit that gives Superion a different chest and doubles as a shield for Silverbolt, currently, Superion has the black verison of the first kit, I plan to get the two kits for Menasor, Hot Spot is on his way from Forbidden Planet, so when I got that Kapow toys order in hand, Defenor gets the black kit, while Superion get the white one, of course, I plan to get the 8th kit from Perfect Effect for when I get the four who make up Optimus Maximus, the Devestator ones, I'm not bothering with because I'm not getting Devestator as I like the TFC toys figures which pretty much a desent scale for me, bigger than CW regluar combiners but not insane heights like Metroplex! The bigger the figure, the worse it can be, thus, Generations Metroplex isn't played with much, he just stands in a corner of my room gathering dust a bit, besides, part of his gun which lets you attach it to his back broke some time ago because of weak plastic and poor desgin choices by his creators! So the old Surpeme class height is the right cut off point in my view!

Got CW Hot Spot in today, he a pretty nice figure, the only thing I would change, is on his back, under where the ladder is, instead of holes, I would of filled up the panels! Overall, Hot spot is a much better figure compared to Motor Master & Optimus prime, I put it, at the mo, on the same level as Silverbolt, if not better than CW Silverbolt, all I need now is the rest of the Protectobots to come out with those PE Addons. With Silverbolt, I think looking at him, the vehicle mode was pretty much an after thought, where's with Hot spot, they worked with the vehicle mode, of course, I really liked what they did with Defenor's head in terms of storage, the folding panel idea, that great, of course, I wonder how Onslaught will be treated in regards to Bruticus's head!

The first one of you to suggest this guy needs a Tyrest and Pharma to stand beside gets his sword shoved somewhere unpleasant.



MP-24 Star Saber

I've also acquired MMC Reformatted R-10 Salvia Prominon, the Combiner Wars Aerialbots and Stunticons with Alpha Bravo and Offroad respectively, and First Aid. I'm not taking pictures of them because I'm lazy.

Star Saber is quite impressive for retaining his original gimmicks to an extent while having a reasonably articulated Saber and an exquisitely painted Brain of Courage. He doesn't hold his weapons super well, as the slots for the tabs on most of them is significantly too wide for them to stay in, and the hinges for the fingers aren't that stiff. If this were any other figure, I'd call this a terrible design gaff. But this is Star Saber, and he's engineered in places to be able to combine with a Masterpiece Victory Leo if they come out with one. Maybe the slots are that wide to accommodate the weapons he wields as Victory Saber? I don't know. The two-handed handle doesn't have any tabs to help hold it in, so it's just sitting in there. I guess I'll look into KFC's hands for him, as they're better able to hold his accessories. Expect a full review of this guy... eventually.

Bruticus' head seems to be shoved in around the chest plate, not really hiding. And Silverbolt's vehicle mode has been an afterthought since 1985.

Hold on a sec , a third party is doing a upgrade for him? I had Star Saber for a little while now, I can see only two things that could be improved, one is the handle for both hands to hold the sword and the other, a much longer blade for the big sword

KFC (Kieth's Fantasy Club) has made articulated hands for several Masterpiece figures now, including Optimus, Soundwave, Ultra Magnus, and Star Saber. It pays to actually poke around on TFW, you know. They're sold out on TF Source at the moment unless you're okay with the white versions. Here.

And you've only noticed that I've had the Lair's ugly mug as the backdrop of my recent pictures now, Galvatron? It's in Soar and Azalea's reviews as well, since The Shadow Realm is no longer with us.

The combined mode isn't all that great for those leigon class figures, so I hope some point Hasbro puts vehicle combiners on the back bench and produce some beast combiners!

Finally got around to picking up a Fans Toys Soar. An absolutely beautiful figure that looks like he just belongs with the rest!

 I just started, been meaning to for a bit. I finally jumped at it because I thought stores were going to remove Hulk Hogan figures or some dumb shit like that so I said screw, now or never. I wouldn't collect of I couldn't have a Hogan figure in the group. I got screwed out of getting a Hotwheels General Lee because of all the bullshit with the flag Wal-Mart pulled them off the shelves and I haven't seen any at Target or Toys R Us.
