Masterpiece Toys

Pictures have surfaced from Chimungmung (reputable Chinese dealer) of the KO MP-08 Grimlock. Means it IS happening and is sized a bit larger so he'll be in proper scale with not only Fans Toys Scoria (Slag) and their other dinobots they're making, but also MP-10 Optimus Prime. KO on the left, MP-08 on the right. Notice the gold is shinier and a bit of the detailing is different with the KO.

No word on price yet but it's "Rumored" to be around the $100 mark. That's only a guess, though.

I'll defintaly be following this story! As I would really like to have an MP Grimlock but don't want to toss out too much

Keep an eye on Chimungmung site, or just like them on Facebook. He always gets good deals on KO's other online stores won't carry.

Yep. Some great deals on there too, when it comes to 3rd party or KO's. Sir Toys is another great place to look just for the KO's, he has more of a selection than Tony (Chimungmung).

To my mind, in both the comic and the toon, Grimlock was far bigger than both Megs and OP. 

So, by that thinking, the MPs should reflect that size difference

there is a huge scale issue with MP"s. You would think by now that this problem would of been solved. I got 3 differently scaled MP sizes.
MP - 01 & MP-05 are enourmous
MP Soundwave is a medium sized scale not too small but not nearly as large as 01 & 05
MP Sideswipe is even smaller than Soundwave.

Hasbro & Takara are seemingly always making figures smaller thou some are unnecessarily big, example would be TFU Powerglide, personally I rather have him as a minibot and I just don't like the robot mode they gave him, thou I just had a sudden thought, what if they made a fembot head for the mould and gave it a more feminine touch?   Anyway, they charge a bomb for these MP figures which is why I don't really go into them, thou the reason I got Megs was to counter my OP, the third MP I got, was good old Grimy because I wanted a better version of him, Classics, Nice, TFA, show accurate, almost, yet has a annoying flaw of his chest siding down  when you don't want it to slide down, of course in my view, FOC Grimlock is the second best Grimlock toy, first going to MP of course!

I need to get me an MP Grimlock. But that dino-bastard is spendy!

I got the Hasbro version and he pretty nice, thou I wish they had left out the light up hand gimmick and gone with the same style as his other hand, being able to open up, one thing for sure, you don't have to remove his crown to transform him to Dino mode, it can stay on as there is plenty of space inside of the Dino chest compartment!

I think the crown is ridiculous and not necessary.  just cause he says hes king all the time doesn't mean they should give him a crown.

He wore a crown for a time in the comics. And you know how they love to throw in accessories of things like Optimus' axe, which he only used once.

Most if not all MP figures are in robot mode scale from MP-10 Optimus onward. Fans Toys Scoria will come with...boosters for Grimlock to bring him to a more acceptable height in robot mode.

Twas after the death of Optimus Prime that Grimlock was elected leader by way of him and his dinobots taking on Trypticon to protect the other autobots and beating him on a technicality. (He was called back to Cybertron by Ratbat after using up his fuel allowence for the mission)

Then Grimlock ruled the Autobots almost like a dictator, the crown came in when he asked Blaster and Goldbug to help him pick a crown design as he was now "King" of the Autobots

The crown works well for Grimlock, in general, of course, he wore his crown, much longer than the only other TF to have a crown, he died a few moments after being crowned and it met the foot of, the one this lair is named after! ("Anyone else want to attempt to fill, he shoes?" Rumble "What did he say his name was?") 

making me wish I had the MP Grimmy even more now.

I'm sure you'll find a descent Grimlock to call your own, thou he might want to kick your butt thou!

yeah I have read some of the comics but I guess I never had that one.  and I always hated that ratbat was decepticon leader. wtf

Well in the marvel G1 era, there wasn't a real single leader on Cybertron for the cons, after Megatron vanished, same goes for the Autobots, because as I recall there were at least two factions within the cons, one lead by Ratbat, in effect, he was pretty much the cons bank manager! The other leader, was Straxus, who ran the smelting pools and I think Blaster has a bit of a grudge against him for the death of his friend! My advice Ravage, get the TP of the marvel G1 run!
