Yep. Diesel went up for pre-order today on BBTS, TfSource and Captured Prey will have him a little later this evening according to Sidecutter. "Early Bird" (I say that tongue-in-cheek) price is $119.99 and only lasts for 10 days (Sept. 26) before they reset the cost to $150 at all major e-tailers for Motormaster. Total Bullshit, as $120 was supposed to be the MSRP all along....but whatever, what can you do? I went ahead and locked my pre-order in through TfSource as there's NO WAY I'm paying $150 for Diesel 10 days from now. We're talking Hexatron/Quakewave prices now, and I don't feel Diesel is anywhere near that in value. $120 is about the most I'm willing to pay for him, due to his overall size and weaponry, I feel that's a fair price. But no more than that! Greedy bastards..

Nah, they should have been cheaper. And we were promised the higher price of the limbs were to offset Diesel (MM) when he came out, but today we found out that was all just a smoke and mirror show. I guess when you consider the price hike of similar sized figs from FansProject in their Causality line (Nin-secticons), it wasn't hard to see this coming. But still, it sucks. I used to think iGear was the worst 3rd party company when it came to price gouging its fans, but $45-$55 for their simplistic upscaled minibots isn't looking so bad right about now.

I'm waiting for Kapow to get him up, thou lately their site has been rather a mess since they upgraded into a mess of a site, example, their listings don't include TFGO yet they have figures from the line up for sales, also, when you search it comes back with results that don't come close to what I searched for , honestly at times I wonder, if it ain't broken, why fix it?

Well ~$50 was fair enough for the ninja bugs, considering they were a bit more substantial than Flameblast and Warcry. But the cars so far don't seem as substantial, not as bulky or weapon-laiden. $150 for Diesel? FansProject, I think you're really shot yourselves in the foot here. Maybe not for this set right now, but collectors are likely to be a lot more wary about jumping on board for your stuff. Especially when TFC Toys will in all likelihood pump out a larger Stunticon set that may at least feel like they're worth the asking price. If not them, then maybe the guys behind that drool-worthy Warbotron. MMC and Mech iDEAS have shown it's possible to have much more decently priced third party items, and collectors want the lower prices. Be competitive with your pricing, or potentially find yourself going IT's path.

DB, it might be the costs of designing, the plastic, not to mention the prototypes of course, then you got to addon the pay for their employees, the equipment they use, their bills and lastly, any good successful company knows, they need to turn a profit, besides FP have made some nice quality stuff since they came into existence!

Uh-huh. Right. But the cars would have been awesome for $50 a pop, or Diesel and the Crossfire M3 stuff going for $110 with $40 having been offset by the previous four. $350 vs. $390. Maybe even less if they dropped a bit more as an early bird price for Diesel like they have going on now. They may have put out really cool stuff in the past, and still do, but they're not the only game out there. It doesn't help that they're not as communicative as say MMC is. It could be that they actually do have to charge that much for legitimate reasons, or it could be because they believe the reputation that their name commands will let them get away with it and everyone will be oh so forgiving. This has probably shaken some people's faith in them, and if they want forgiveness for it from the fandom then Intimidator had better BLOW the fandom's collective socks off. If not that, then their upcoming stuff after Intimidator. CA-14 and onward, Function X4, and all that.

I wonder what will be their follow up to Not Mensor? 

Anyway, I gotta wait on the pre-order due to Kapow not listing him yet!

I think this will be the last combiner I'll ever buy from FansProject. Really shady business strategy went into marketing (or lack thereof) these. Like you said, there's too many options out there and I think other companies are doing a better job when it comes to Gestalts.

Ok, I've preordered the final Stunticon and like Six said, I think on major combiners it be my last one to complete, not just for financial reasons but space, lack of, besides, there's not really a great deal I want at the mo and I need to clear out some stuff to make room for other bits and bobs!

Oh, I never said this would be my last combiner. Just my last combiner from FansProject. If I can afford Warbotron then he may well be the last one I buy for a while. He's just too damned good looking to pass up.

I might get one more from FansProject...sort of. Quantron, MakeToy's version of Computron, might be cool. But I'll see for myself if this set was worth the money once I have everything in hand. I enjoy Car Crash and Down Force despite being a bit costly for what they seem worth at the moment.

I'll probably pass on Quantron. It's not that I don't think it'll be awesome...I mean, damn he even comes with the golden bow & arrow of righteousness. It's just that I never really cared for the characters, their alt modes (being Cybertronian) and the fact I have to start scaling back financially when it comes to $350-$600 combining investments.

Color images of Diesel (not-Motormaster) have surfaced, who is due out later this month!

Looks good, now, I just need that bloodin Art tek Rex Blaster to come in at Kapow for them to ship my other two Stunticons which are required to make the big guy!

I always try and keep the bundling within the same combiner team, as I have bundled both Bovis and Talon from MMC Predaking together. I also tend to bundle MP releases when they're only set a month apart in release dates (Prowl and Bluestreak)...still waiting on the latter to ship out from TfSource now that that order's been paid in full.

My order is the two Stunticons I need for the limbs but the Rex Blaster was to take the order over £100 because then you get free postage, thou lately I kind of begun thinking maybe see if I can change out the Rex Blaster for something else because its been quite the while now and I have no date as to when that Rex Blaster is even due in, ordinarily it was July and we're now in the start of Nov, so I am a little worried!

Also read that the release date has been delayed (yet again) to early-mid January. But with in package shots like those, he'll be out real soon. Don't really mind the delay though, as Christmas makes getting anything in December tough enough.

Well the delay is good because it means we can all focus on Christmas shopping, thou I have started eying another third party item of interest to me!
