The Motor Squad...is COMPLETE!

Diesel is a man. The MANLIEST bot you'll find this side of Titanium Soundwave. I mean, that codpiece is HUGE!  what  And the transformation isn't so hard after the first time when you know what has to do what and give the joints a little exercise.

And yes, reviews for the team are underway.

Gonna say it now, Ravage. That's not just Diesel.

...That's pretty much FansProject as a whole.

Mine came in the mail while I was in the hospital a couple weeks back. Once my hand makes a full recovery, I "should" be able to transform him (them) all into Menasor. Definitely on my to do list! Any tabs I should worry about stressing or breaking, DB?

I think possibly the correctors to the arms, where Last Chance & Down force attach, those are the ones to worry about if your transforming them on a regular basis! And a tip, take careful note of Diesel's vehicle mode before transforming because its a pain in the butt to get right!

Most of them should be able to take a bit of a beating, but getting the combiner parts connected to/disconnected from the back of Diesel proper can be a little tricky. And getting all the tabs of the cab shell together takes a bit of patience as the halves can't just be simply slammed together. Getting the combiner toes apart again is tough, but the sword tip can help. Bigger initial worries are the thin armature holding his waist to his body with the tight ratchet for turning it around for combined mode, and the somewhat less thin armatures that feature the knee ratchets. Just go slow, and try to bend them from as close to the joint as possible.

The connectors can be tricky, but only in finding the butter zone for the shoulders in particular. The shoulders connect with the combiner arms pointing back. The legs connect backwards. Once you get them to these positions, a bit of careful wiggling as you pull should make them come right off.

And I'm informing you that Diesel isn't the only one with a bunch of fiddly parts in his transformation from FansProject. The whole team has quite a few fiddly parts in each, from how the legs on Car Crash and T-Bone unfold (requiring a mod to make it not feel like they're going to break just transforming them) to much of Down Force in general to getting Last Chance's legs out of/in to the rear of the car and how his arms need to be on the underside of the hood. The Causality Insecticons had fiddly parts as well, and the Warbots Defender and Assaulter have plenty of their own moments. You can dig through the video reviews of them and see for yourself if you don't believe me.

About the only series from FansProject that I can think of that don't have nearly as many fiddly parts are the Function-X line and the Retro-Future line. Even the old Parallax armors aren't an easy time snapping onto the base figures.

I meant the small little peg bits, not the main connector, it goes right into the cars themselves!

That's really not an issue as far as I can see. It's not hard getting those in to or out of Down Force and Last Chance.

True but its a worry over time if you combine them to much, at least that's what I suspect! One thing that is an improvement over the Crossfire 2 Bruticus kit, is the combiner mode head, from CF2 the horns are rather weak plastic, but on this guy, they made sure its a strong plastic, of course, that horn thing can slide about left or right!

I thought I'd leave this short stop-motion transformation video here for anyone not familiar with this set:

Pretty cool indeed!

That stop motion was hardly worth being classed as stop motion, it was more take a shot, move to the next phrase of the transformation take a shot and so on and so-forth!

Well, close enough. You find a better one, let me know.  :sweet:  This particular video was good enough to get front paged over at TFW2005 and they just don't front page random videos for the hell of it.
